Location​

The Lazy Moose Cottage and Acorn Cabin are located under 3 hours from Toronto, with easy access to Algonquin Provincial Park, Arrowhead and Huntsville. There are many great hikes and activities in the area including the famous Screaming Heads of Midlothian. The closest town is Burks Falls which is a 15min. drive. Winter activities include snowshoeing, tobogganing on your own hill, skiing at Snow Valley, visiting the forest skate trail at Arrowhead PP and of course

relaxing with a board game or book.

 Waterfront

The swimming is great! Guests enjoy 600' of private waterfront (weed free). It is rare to see anyone passing by.   We have the benefits of being on a private section of the Magnetawan River, but still a 2 minute paddle to beautiful Pickerel Lake. 

There is a large shaded deck, a jumping dock and a sand area for those who prefer wading in . The water drops off quickly and is very deep.

At no additional cost, guests can enjoy the canoes, kayak, swim mat and paddle board.

The cottage is located a safe distance from the waterfront (250'). A buffer that we appreciated when raising our family here.
